Delivery Route Checklist

Walk the complete route from the truck or kerb to the final position before delivery day.

Exterior approach

Confirm parking, loading and building access arrangements.Measure gates, paths, porch openings and exterior steps.Check overhangs, railings, low branches and tight bends.Identify ice, mud, gravel, slopes or other handling hazards.

Entry door

Measure the clear opening with the door fully open.Account for handles, closers, storm doors, screens and trim.Measure height at the lowest usable point.Confirm whether the door may be removed and who may remove it.Check space outside and inside for the first turn.

Interior route

Measure each hallway at its narrowest point.Measure all interior doors and arches.Check ceiling height where the item must stand or tilt.Measure corner and landing space for rotation.Remove rugs, lamps and movable obstacles before delivery.

Building and final placement

Reserve a lift/elevator where required.Check lift/elevator door, cabin and weight restrictions.Confirm stair width, handrails and landing dimensions.Clear the destination room and mark the intended footprint.Keep pets and bystanders away from the delivery route.
