Before lifting

Review the measured route and intended orientation.Confirm enough capable people and appropriate moving equipment.Remove drawers, shelves, cushions and approved detachable parts.Protect floors, walls, corners and the item.Secure doors, cords and moving parts.

Clear the route

Open and secure doors.Remove rugs, decorations and movable obstacles.Provide adequate lighting.Keep children, pets and bystanders clear.Confirm the destination is ready.

At each checkpoint

Stop before forcing or scraping the item.Reassess orientation and hand positions.Watch ceilings, rails, trim and pinch points.Use a spotter where visibility is limited.Abandon an unsafe attempt rather than risking injury or damage.

After placement

Check the item for damage before signing delivery documents where applicable.Confirm doors, drawers and vents can operate.Reconnect services only as directed by qualified instructions or professionals.Keep documentation until the item is installed and working.
