Before ordering

Measure the intended opening, route and installation clearances.Check whether the item is returnable and record the final return date.Confirm whether seasonal clearance, final-sale or hazardous-material rules apply.Save the product page, model number and advertised dimensions.Consider whether waiting would preserve a better return window.

Immediately after delivery

Inspect the package for model and shipping damage.Open the package while the return period is active.Measure the actual product body and relevant projections.Compare the actual item with the opening and installation requirements.Photograph discrepancies between the item, box and listing.

Before storing

Test removable parts and required accessories without damaging the item.Keep packaging until fit and condition are confirmed.Store manuals, receipts, screenshots and photographs together.Set a calendar reminder well before the return deadline.Do not wait for summer, winter or moving day to discover a fit problem.
